The Almanzo Wilder Homestead, site of the book, Farmer Boy, by Laura Ingalls Wilder,  is located at 177 Stacy Road in Burke. This historic site is the original boyhood home of Almanzo Wilder, Laura’s husband. The site also includes replica barns, constructed according to Almanzo’s drawings for Laura, a replica one room schoolhouse, and a covered pavilion for picnic lunches. The site is open to the public from Memorial Day weekend through September 30. Hours are Monday – Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 12-4. Last tour all days is at 3pm.
